Question about Cisco Catalyst 5500

Just put a new Cat5500 on our core network, we're using a 3G Supervisor card with one of the gigabit uplink ports going to a Cisco 7513. It's been working for the past 2 days, but we're accumulating some strange erratic packet loss, and it's so low it's not really noticeable, (1% or less) but I don't think we should be dropping any packets from the switch to the router.

The only thing I can find on the switch that might be of interest is one of the counters is slowly increasing. This was taken from the GigaBit Uplink port on the Supervisor card, which connects to the 7513.

32 bit counters
5 badTxCRC = 1530

The only thing on Cisco's site that I can find referencing the "baxTxCRC's" is this...

The show counters <mod/port> command is useful for troubleshooting 'R' line cards. For example, the following is an excerpt from the show counter output of a 10/100BaseTX Ethernet linecard part number WS-X5225R:

5 badTxCRC = 0
If badTxCRC is incrementing, this can be bad hardware corrupting packets. Capture the output and open a case with TAC.

So do I have bad hardware? Doesn't seem so... bleh, I hate problems like this. I don't expect anyone to know anything about this, but I figured I'd try...

Try networking forum.

Next step call cisco. 5500s are supremely ancient technology and were terrible at gigabit ethernet.

What would be a better solution?

p.s. mods you can delete this if you want, I posted it in Networking.
