What exactly is the appeal to male circumcision?

I've never been though it and don't plan on doing so.

Yet so many folks I know have been though it.

I know back centuries ago the jews were circumcised.

But I seriously doubt all folks who get circumcised nowadays are jewish.

health benefits? are none really. medical community tries to act like there are, most likely because it's a half a billion dollar a year industry in the united states. it's by far the biggest fraud and hoax in modern medicine.

It's only done for religious reasons. All it really does is reduce the enjoyment of sex due to damaged nerve endings and put your baby through un-needed pain.

I have a 9 month old. We researched it and did not do it, for the exact reasons above!

I'm just trying to figure out the appeal.

There must be some sort of LOGICAL reasoning behind doing it. I just haven't fouind it yet.

To me it sounds completely illogical to do it.
 
I recall reading an article not too long ago about how circumcised men had a slightly lower risk of getting infected with HIV if they were to have sex with an infected person as compared to uncircumsized men. Not sure why that is as the article didn't explain.

I dunno... I've just heard several girls say they were kinda grossed out the first time they saw an uncircumsized guy... I guess because its the norm in the states to do so? Plus, it requires a little extra maintenance (especially at a younger age) than circumsized boys...
