Question about channels.

I was having some trouble with my Wii having difficulties trying to connect online. I went to Nintendo's support site, and it said to change the channel to 1 or 11. I change it to 1 and it worked fine after that(channel was originally 6).

Can this cause problems my brother's laptop or my parent's computer that uses a wireless USB dongle by changing the channel?
 
Yeah. You should be fine. I had to do a similar thing since I had a bluetooth dongle that when I connected my Palm to sync, it would drop my wi-fi. After I changed the channel, all was good.
