I always thought that the different channels for 802.11b meant that it switched a different frequency range...is this safe to say? Also, what is the frequency bandwidth for 802.11b. Next, are there any routers that use frequency hopping? i've read that bluetooth uses it.

Thanks

802.11a, b, and g are direct sequence. They use a 22 Mhz wide "channel". FOr instance, channel 1 is 2.412 Ghz. Channel 1, 2, and 3 overlap some and so on. Channels 1, 6, and 11, or 2.412, 2.437, and 2.462 respectively, do no overlap.
