Question about centre speaker in 5.1 setups

I have pretty much settled on getting the Creative MegaWorks THX® 5.1 550 speakers for my computer. I am wondering if there is any "hiss" coming from the center speaker when playing music? I'm assuming that this speaker is latent during non 5.1 audio playback. Is it quiet? What about other 5.1 speaker setups? I sure would like to know.

And I will be pairing these with the Audigy 2

Thanks

you can only hear a hiss coming out of the speakers when you turn it up more than 1/2 way and put your ear close to the speakers when it isn't playing anything.. this is about the only time where you will hear the hiss... if you are playing music, the hiss isn't very noticable...

i have the logitech z640's and i don't hear any hissing at all when playing them under normal conditions... but when turn them up more than half way and put my ear close to the speakers, i can hear some hissing...

however, these are common for pretty much all speakers.. even if you take a 2.1 or 4.1 setup.. if you crank up the volume, you will definently hear a hiss coming from the speakers..

when playing music games, etc... you wouldn't really notice any hissing at all.
