Can you just buy a Bluetooth adapter for your computer and started working with your phone, or do you have to buy a kit from the company in order to get the software to make it work?

<~ just got a Motorola V600 and wants to upload MP3s as ringtones.

A bluetooth adapter should be fine.

Not all phones will allow you to do that, but the V600 should.

Bluetooth adapter with proper XP drivers should be enough to get bluetooth working. Took me awhile to figure out how to sync phone with Outlook...I kept looking for special software installed on my computer but none is needed...just go to 'My bluetooth places' and double click the sync icon when your phone is on and bluetooth is active. First time you'll have to 'pair' devices and after that it's cake.

However, I *STILL* haven't figured out how to make my bluetooth phone sync directly with my bluetooth PDA (I don't think it can?)

Oh yeah, wot phone should i get Moto v600 or SE z600?? Currently I have a SE t616 and I like everything but the camera and inconsistent RF reception. I heard firmware should solve the latter but my local Cingular is stupid and they don't know how to upgrade my firmware.

I love the V600, I've only had it a day though, but haven't found any problems yet ;)

I can upload MP3s and download pics just fine...but do I have to be subscribed to some kinda service in order to use the phone like a modem so I can use the laptop on the road?

definitely the V600, it is more feature packed than the z600, not to mention it is a whole lot newer.

the Z600, however, beats the v600 senseless in terms of sexiness. (subjective)
I just love how the z600 looks. but it is a tad bit too large and the flip spring mechanism is a tad bit too hard/tight.
