Question about case/motherboard/drives screws...

Hello everyone. I'm new to building computers, so I don't know much about them. Right now, I'm confused on the types of screws used in fully assembling a computer. My case, which is a Raidmax Scorpio 868W came with three types of screws, some golden "raiser-type" screws, and some small red circle type-of-paper (or so it seems). To my understanding, I may be wrong...

First, there's three types of screws. All of them are the PLUS-type screws. I think I only know the purpose of two of them. There is one screw which has more of a RECTANGULAR HEAD on the top in which I think is used for only screwing the case's sides and possibly fans.

There is another one which doesn't have that rectangular head, but is more of a rounder head in which I believe is used for installing: any of the drives, and to screw the MOTHERBOARD ONTO the GOLDEN RAISERS.

The last screw is the longest screw... it is longer than both the Rectangular headed/non-rectangular headed ones in which I don't know what the use is for.

As I mentioned above, there are these golden raisers in which I believe (again, I am unsure) you screw them onto the side of the case, and then after that you put the motherboard aligned into the holes with the golden raisers, and use the RECTANGULAR HEAD screws...

Last, there are these red paper circles... I think you put them right between the NON-RECTANGULAR HEAD screws and the motherboard.... maybe as a non-electrical conductor? I am not sure if this is TRULY needed this as I had less than it came with the golden raisers...

Can anyone verify if I am understanding what these screws do? Sorry for no pictures, but can anyone show me the pictures of common screws and what does what? This would help verify and clarify everything that I currently understand... My main concern is using the wrong screws and probably damaging something because of possibly different screw forces or something along the lines of that.

Last, anyone know where I can purchase MORE of these? Drive screws/case screws/golden raisers/more of the red circle paper? Thanks!

your case shoudl have come with some sort of install guide for things, all of mine have, it tells you what screws go where

but if i understand your descriptions right its like this

the paper ones are for teh mobo yes thats a lil washer on there

the rectangular head ones are for screwing the PCI/agp cards into the case, they are too big for the HDDs

the round headed ones are for the HDDs and CD Roms drives

tho it doesnt really matter what ones you use where as long as they fit

Thanks man. My case never came with a manual. My motherboard (Abit NF8) only comes with general assembly instructions. Its manual doesn't cover anything like which types of screws to use, where, and how. It is very general ... i.e. "Assemble motherboard onto to case." My confusion comes from not finding instructions on these tiny details in which I'm sure everyone knows but me. It's these minor specific instructions that I never know... =(

Oh yeah, are those "red washers" truly necessary? Is it bad if your motherboard doesn't use I don't have enough for all my raisers... Do you know where I can purchase more of ALL the screws/raisers/washers so I would have more later?

Washers shouldn't be necessary, I've never used them.

I'd give you a link buy copy paste isn't working for me at the moment. Go to cyberguys.com and do a search for screws and then click on screws/nuts. I usually just junk out old computers and save every screw that I can use.
