Question about cargo nets

i have a quick (me thinks) question about trunk/cargo nets:

do you have to get one specifically made for your car by the car manufacturer?

or

are there better third-party alternatives out there?

for what it's worth, i have a 2003 nissan sentra.

thanks!

dude... give us a little time. this is not as active as OT

I am not sure about your question though. We have big nets that cover the backs of our pickups and work that are great, but not the same thing you are looking for. I would say look at all of them and find one that looks strong, and has hooks that will work with your car. I do not think their is an advantage to OEM more than just that it is made to fit and hook to the hooks in your car.

I've had two OEM ones that worked very well (Infiniti I30 and Lexus ES350).

I would prefer OEM, unless you can get an aftermarket one for markedly cheaper

I have one in my M3 and in the 120, both OEM BMW. Both were cheap and are the best possible buy for when you put small items in a big trunk.

I've used Spidy Gear - Bed Web nets for pickups and Spidy Gear Luggage Web nets for SUVs. They are very well made and very adjustable. The Luggage Web, which is smaller and comes in two sizes, is better suited for a Sentra. I have the larger one in the back of my FJ. It can cover a large cooler, milk crate, and ammo box with room left to expand.

I never bought a OEM net as the prices were high.

thanks guys. i didn't mean my comments to come off like i was being demanding...

ironwing, i'll see if i can find spidy gear on the net and see what they look like.

also, i'll have to call up my dealership and see how much an OEM net costs... didn't know they were that expensive. i just have some stuff in the trunk and they move around too much as i drive. i've also got some stuff in the car which i'd like to move into the trunk so the car looks nicer inside... you know, for the ladies ;-)
