My current registration says valid from 5/22/07 TO 5/22/08. Now does that mean that the reg is good through the 21st but on the 22nd it is no good? Or is it good through the 22nd?

Secondly; my friend wants to use my car for her drive test at the DMV tomorrow. Ive been working a lot recently and didnt even realize my registration was about to expire. If I go in, pay my registration fees and get a temporary operating permit for the next few days, would that be ok for the drive test? I would think so because as long as the car is legal to be driven on the street it should be fine in the drive test. Im just freaking out now because I told her she could use it and now my dumb ass forgot about the registration.

If you go in and pay your registration fees, they will GIVE you your new registration and stickers on the spot.

It should be fine until midnight on the 22nd.

should be good on the 22nd
temporary operating permit? wtf are you talking about? here if you pay the registration fee, you get a sticker to slap on your license plate

if you pay it online, you get a receipt that is valid for 10 days or some such while you wait for the sticker in the mail.
call the appropriate office in the morning, someone there should be able to tell you what you need to know in about 2 minutes. or less.*

*once you get off hold and get an actual human

edit: beaten, figures.

What state? If it's in CA and you don't need a smog, you might be able to use one of those express machines outside DMV's to get your sticker.

Ah, if you need a smog, then you may indeed be able to get a temporary sticker, good for 30-60 days.

As long as the current registration and insurance are valid, (good until midnight 22nd/23rd) then DMV will permit the vehicle to be used. Also, it has to be in good operating condition and meet the safety inspection. (lights, turn signals, seat belts, etc.)
