my cd player isn't quite functioning right, i was thinking can i go to a B&M store such as CC, BB, or Fry's and "purchase" an installation and have them fix the problem? of course i'll buy whatever is necessary to fix it too...i.e. another fuse, cables etc.

can i do that? i keep my old cd player and just pay for the "installation" and hav them fix it?

if not or if you have any other recommendations of where i can go to fix this, please reply

thanks in advance

it wont play, the power dies.

i'm not sure what it really is, my brother checked if the fuse is burned out, but it's fine.

whenever i start the car, the cd player will flip/rotates its faceplate (which it's suppose to do) but after a second or two it sort of dies and just rotates back and i can't do anything about it, there must be some sort of malfunction or some reason why the power goes off...

it just happened one day, dunno how or why

any HELP will be appreciated!

so do u have any suggestions as in if i can use my current CD player and just pay for the installation and have CC/BB/Fry's fix it??

or can you recommend any other type of places that i can go to (not too expensive though :)

any type of HELP appreciated!

Have you check the power and ground wires to it? It sounds like the remote power connection is flaky.

my brother pretty much checked everything and can't figure out what's wrong.

but basically can i bring my car into one of the B&M stores i mentioned and have them fix it

i'm up for anything ATM, as long as the total cost will be less than 60-70 bucks :)

I really don't know. I would guess no more than $100, but I always install all my stuff myself. Of course, if the CD player is shot and you need a new one, you'll have to add that in.

i really dont think my CD player is broken itself, but rather something is wrong with the cables/wires. because it still powers up

No, this sounds like the actual Player is broken. The wireing hardly ever goes bad (well, compared to the CD players ;) ). What brand and model is it. I have a Kenwood that has a motorized faceplate just as your, and it's having the same problems.

When did you buy it? It might still be under warranty, so you might be able to get it fixed.

I agree. I think the player is screwed up. It sounds like you're getting power. As long as the original installation was solid, it's nowhere near as likely to cause a problem as the player itself.
