Im building a new system and am going to use round IDE and floppy cables. My question is about their length. Are the cables measured from connector to connector or are they measured from the insides of the housing (i.e. the actual round part of the cable)?

Im trying to avoid excess cable in the case but I dont want to get cables that are too short either.

Thanks.

See this picture for an explanation of what I mean:

I thought of the same idea, and ended up buying a 12in cable and a 10in cable. Bother were the perfect size. To give you a idea of how tall my case is see this pic before i put them in a while back. Hope this helps. Case
My ide slots are right about where the glare starts :)
I used the 12 in cable for the cd drive and the 10 in cable for my hard drive.
