I am having Wide Open West install a cable modem for me tomorrow. I am currentlly living in my finaces parents basement. They have Time Warner cable, but I choose to go with wide open west cause it was cheaper for faster service. I was unsure if it was even possible to have one provider for modem and a differant one for cable TV, but they said it can be done. I am just wondering if anyone knows how they do it. Will they just have to mess with the box outside and then it will run through the same cables as the TV signal, or will they have to run a new cable? the reason i ask is, cause this is a very old house and it actually doesn't have any cable wall jacks. The cable is run into the house from the box outside, it is brought into a den(one TV is located here), then it is taken throught he wall into the living room(another TV here), I believe it is also split in the den and then a hole was drilled into the floor to bring it down to the basement(we have a TV done here) there is another TV in the upstairs as well as one in the kitchen and one in the lower bedroom, not sure if any of these are cable or antenna. But if they have to run another cable it means they may likely have to drill a bigger hole through the brick, then drill a bigger hole throught he floor, then a bigger hole through the wood were the cable is routed now. That sounds liek a lot of work and I'm not too sure what her dad will say about it. She said he won't care, but I haven't had a chance to ask him. So if you know how its done, please inform me. thanks
