Question about buying music online...

So, the RIAA comes calling...how do you prove you "own" the music if you don't have a CD to show them?

Do you have to save your receipt or something???

If you bought it from a reputable source (itunes for example), then you have a protected copy. No worries. Plus anything bought should be traceable via your account on the website. iTunes keeps all of my purchased music in the purchased playlist. Very easy to see what I bought from them.

Since when does the RIAA have the legal right to "come calling" and demand you supply them with information on music purchased? I thought their legal power was in tracking illegal downloads and then suing those people caught.
