question about buying in the For Sale section

Sorry if this is the wrong section for this question. I am looking to buy a video card on the for sale section. When I come across someone who has a relatively new card, i'de certainly like the warranty they have as well. Is this possible? Should I ask for a receipt as well? Is it a problem if their name is on the receipt? How do I handle making a purchase on the for sale section so that I can take advantage of a new card's warranty

Post a "Wanted To Buy/Looking For" thread stating what you are looking for with your terms. Some video card warranties leave alot to be desired when it comes to ownership transference and such. Do your research on video card warranty exceptions first.

I suggest looking for a BFG card as those seem to carry the best warranty as far as I can tell.

Some XFX cards carry "Double Lifetime Warranty" meaning it can be transferred and the second owner receives full lifetime warranty service as well.

Heres what someone wrote on newegg:

Pros: Worked great while it worked.

Cons: It busted just after the thirty day warrantee expired. That's what losered the overall rating.

Other Thoughts: Save all of your packaging for a YEAR after purchase. Rent some storage space for the old boxes and junk or whatever you have to do. New Egg doesn't like to RMA w/o them.
