How safe is it to order a DLP online? How easy is it for it to get damaged? Have any of you guys that have ordered one online have any problems with your TV when it arrived? Broken bulbs etc?

I bought my Samsung 50" from onecall.com and it came in perfect condition. Saved over $900 too :)

another vote for onecall.com, my Samsung 42" was perfect as well

the delivery was just them lowering it off the truck though so have someone to help you move it inside and positioned where you want it

The driver was kind enough to help me bring the TV up to my 3rd floor apartment :)

But the overall experience was great!

I bought my 56" DLP from amazon.com. It's been great for 3 months so far.

I bought a 46" DLP from tvauthority.com. Was delivered with no issues. The driver even carried it into the house because my grandmother was the only one home at the time.

50" DLP here from onecall as well. When you receive the TV, it is in a packaging crate that has shock detectors. If they are activated, note that immediately. No problems with mine at all, and it has been over a year. Love the DLP.

Bought my 50" Samsung (As evidenced by this thread, Samsung DLP rules!) last year from Buy.com. The box has shock and roll detectors on it and the driver even helped set it up for me inside the house. WOrks great over a year later.

edit: when I say last year, I mean 2005 :)

Ordered mine from Amazon (46" DLP). No shock protectors (wtf are those?) to my knowledge, came in an EGL van. Worked fine, but my lamp door switch keeps coming loose, need to call that in. (Have it twist tied right now)
