Question about burning Music CDs

I use Nero to burn music CDs and sometime an MP3 that sounds fine on my computer when put on the CD loses quality or some of them won't play at all. So every now and then I have a CD which has 2-3 songs that will not play at all but the rest on there sounds OK.

Can somebody please tell me what I might be doing wrong or is there a better CD burning software that I shold try?

1) Convert to WAV before burning using LAME with the --decode switch. Nero's MP3 engine leaves a lot to be desired IMHO.
2) Burn slower
3) Use better media
4) Cook in Disc-At-Once
