I have a movie in avi format that is very good resolution. I wanted to burn it to cd. I have nero 5.5 and easy cd creator. I was wondering what's the best way to burn it to cd. In roxio there's no option for burning other than mpeg when I choose burn video. In nero, video option gives me the choice of burning in vcd format or svcd (which it says i have to have a plugin for). How would I burn it in avi format to cd? If i use convert to vcd, will the quality be changed? thanks.

Just burn a regular data CD to keep it in AVI form.. Converting it to mpg will allow you to watch it on your home DVD player but will degrade the quality allot.

Do you care about playing it in a dvd player? If not just burn it as data to a cd. That way you lose nothing. If you convert it to VCD you will lose quality but it will be playable in a dvd player.

One time I used cd creator to burn a movie as data and it no longer played after buring it. Maybe a bad burn or a bad original avi file I guess.
