Question about burning audio files

I have both Nero & Deep Burner Pro.
I'm wanting to burn a disc for a friend who doesn't have an MP3 player.
When I open the program, one of the options is "make audio disc".
If I choose that option, will it convert the MP3 file to a file that can be played in a regular CD player?
I ask this because when I look at properties after I move the file to the "to be burned" window, it still shows it as "MP3".
