I am planning the install of a transfer switch for a backup generator. My hot water heater has 30A breaker. The breaker has a single switch but take up the room of a double pole. Would there be an issue of using a single space 30A breaker in the transfer switch for it? I'm far from an electrical expert so looking for some guidance on this one. The rest of it is pretty simple plug and play. I can certainly use a like switch to what is in the breaker box but if I can have an additional circuit in the transfer switch it would be nice. Thanks guys.
