Question about boot up

Hi all,

Just built a computer for a friend. (As usual). 1 out of 5 times it stops booting and says insert cd. When you restart it boots right to xp. Any clues?

ECS n2u400 if that helps. Did I do a messed up install of windows? All components were new. Clean install of xp pro.
