Question about "Bookmarks"

I arrange my bookmarks in a certain order so I can see the ones I use the most at the top. BUT IE or Firefox will rearrange them alphabetically. WHY? What setting can I do to keep them arranged in a certain way?

In Firefox just click on bookmarks, manage bookmarks... choose view and make sure "unsorted" is checked. I'm sure there is a way to do this in IE as well since mine aren't in alphabetical order in it either.

I don't have a clue why IE would rearrange them. I have mine in the order I want and they stay that way. I just went in IE and it took me a while to figure out how to get them in aphabetical order. I then rearranged them the way I want and they stayed that way.

Have they always been that way, or this just start happening? On my pc, IE just adds them at the bottom of the list, unless I right click on any favorite and choose "sort by name", then it rearranges them alphabeticaly.

Well what happens is They stay in the way I put them but when I import or export them they get sorted by name. And then when I arranged them to the way I want. The next time I opened IE it sorted them by name again.

Well I'm not sure...... but try going to the "favorites" folder ( C:\ Documents and Settings\"your user name" ) and click on "view/arrange" icons and see if there is a check by "name", if so, change it to "type" or something besides "name".

I'm not sure if this will work....... I just don't have any other idea???😉

You could try renaming the bookmarks to something like [goatse] so it'll appear at the top of your list. My ie only sorts by name when I right click and > Sorty by name
