question about bluetooth mice

all of the ones seem to have a usb adapter... presumably because the primary market is desktops. since my laptop has bluetooth, do i still need to use the adapter, or will windows and my mouse work fine automatically?
 
Most should work but sometimes there are functions with particular bluetooth mice that wont work without their dongle in use.
 
The USB adapter is a bluetooth dongle, and not required when you have bluetooth built into your laptop as far as I know. I doubt very much it will limit you in anyway...

and as far as I can see, buying a bluetooth mouse if your going to use a dongle is kinda pointless due to their high costs compared to the cheaper radio freq. with their own USB dongles.
