Question about blue/white Mac G3

Oyeve

Lifer
Hi all. Don't hate me for asking a Mac question. 🙂 Anyway, I have a blue/white tower imac g3 with a 350mhz chip in it and was wondering if the 450 or 500 mhz g4 cpus will work in it. I know the beige case mac mobos that were g3 can take a g4 chip but i was wondering if the blue/white tower can take a g4. Thanks!

You need a ZIF CPU.

 Those CPU's will work. Just stick one in there and you got yourself a G4.

Thanks for the reply guys, but what I meant is can I take a G4 chip from a G4 mac and pop it into my G3 mobo. Heres the situation, my job has tons of G4 macs that are pulled from production and sold to some third party company. The job wont sell or give one to me but they say I can pull memory or other stuff just as long as the mac is still usable, so I was thinking I can (hopefully) swap my G3 chip with one of the G4 chips. The chips we have range from single 500mhz to dual 500mhz. Can these work in my Blue/White G3?
