Question About BH-5 RAM!

Okay, basically, I am buying a used pair of Muskin Level II PC-2700 DDR SDRAM sticks with WinBond BH-5 chips for $350 CAD ($293.28 USD).

First, I want to know, is that a good deal?

Second, what does the lower than normal (where normal is PC-3500 for BH-5 sticks) PC level (stock speed) mean for me? Does this mean the stick won't perform as well as PC-3500 BH-5 set of Muskin Level II sticks? I've seen both for sale and with less than a $50 CAD difference between them.

So, should I buy these sticks or not? I always thought I could use the tight timings provided by BH-5 to achieve a combination of tight timings and high frequencies (such as anything close to DDR 600MHz), and maybe even beat out all the new PC-4400 EL Gold and PC-4800 EL sticks from OCZ and equivalents from other manufacturers.

Someone help me out. Bumps are also greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Nah, it's not a good deal, nor is it possible to expect DDR600 with tight timings. You won't even get DDR600.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but BH-5 are not the be all end all chips you think it is.

Considered Samsung TCCD based memory? They're also getting high clock speeds at low latencies, all without high voltage which BH-5 loves (although OCZ has some new TCCD ICs out that love voltage too).

Thanks for bumps all.

I did consider Samsung's new TCCD chips, such as those found in almost all new revisions of the manufacturer's PC-3200 sticks and A-DATA's PC-4800 stick. I might just go for A-DATA's stick for memory frequency, if I am going to buy brand new.

But for now, I am going to search the Forums for some used Samsung TCCD-based RAM sticks. Also, before I turn down this deal, more people please give me your opinions (also on Samsung TCCD and its performance as compared to all other RAM chips, including WinBond BH-5).

Thanks for the bumps and information!

If you have can and want to do over 3.3 volts, the windbond will be good, but otherwise the tccd will smoke it, Im not positive though, I have never seen bh-5 at pc2100 before, that makes me worry a little, might be a really lame revision.

I am also consider which of these to get(TCCD or BH-5 that is) and from what I have seen so far the TCCD stuff is better.
