Question about beating people with soap

Mill

Lifer
I was watching Full Metal Jacket with a friend of mine. We got to the part were they are beating Leonard with the soap wrapped in towels and socks, when he said something profound. "They do that because it doesn't leave bruises." I was like WTF? How would it not leave bruises? Has anyone ever seen the aftermath of a soap attack. Military? Camp? LMK

its because you are wrapping it in towels. the towels soften the blow the skin but it still hurts like a SOB

<< So it wouldn't leave a bruise? >>

i don't know the exacty anatomical reason for it, but it can lessen the chance that it leaves bruises...

Yes, a bar of soap will leave a bruise. Why soap then? Well, don't you think that a bar of soap is a bit more innocuous item to be found with wrapped up in a towel if you're caught than say a brick?

but rarely when it is wrapped in a towel. of course a bar of soap will leave a bruise, but the towel lessens the chance.

When I was in basic training many moons ago, we gave one screwup a blanket party and threw him down a flight of stairs. After that he wasn't a screwup any more and the platoon was never again punished for his inadequacies.

"Do you suck dick, Sgt. Pile? Bullsh*t! I bet you can suck a golf ball through a garden hose."

i think they wrapped it in the towel to make it a better weapon. It added velocity to the soap, which hurt more. I mean, i guess they could have thrown it at him, but that wouldn't be as practical.

LOL! People purposely hurting themselves trying to figure something out for ATOT.... what dedication!

Better hope you never screw up..... When you're beaten I will be sure to laugh at you.

Of course it can leave a bruise, but the chances are a hell of a lot less of it leaving bruises than they would be if it were a brick or something. Soap gives, most other objects don't. If they are that worried about leaving bruises, why not just jam a broomstick up his arse? Much more effective IMHO.

It really hurts. And yes, it leaves bruises. We attacked a kid freshman year and beat the crap out of him because he urinated on a lot of peoples doornobs. So, we taught him a lesson.
