I've got a Dell 2600 server with a Dell PERC 4/Di RAID controller. It's just reporting that the PERC backup battery has exceeded its recharge limit. It's got something like 1130 charge cycles, where the warning triggers at 1100 cycles.
These are, I believe, Li-Ion batteries and Dell says they don't need to be reconditioned. There's no reconditioning option in the Dell Server Management software.
The battery is apparently a Dell 1K240. I found some on eBay. Hopefully Dell still stocks them.
I assume I need to replace it now. Is there something else that I should know?
Thanks!
