Question about bats

Bats navigate through the night using sonar. Assuming there are hundreds of them, how does it differentiate between its own and others?

Radar! 😉

I know it's not radar... but is sonar correct? I thought that had to be underwater.

Is it just "echo location" or is there something more specific.

Oh, and I have nothing to add to the real question.

Different frequency and pitch. Just like humans, they can recognize different "voices"
But if your in a room with hundreds of people talking at the same time, its hard to hear the other person talking.
