I have receaved from my dad a set of boston Acoustics 7500g speakers that came with his gateway. The gateway version of these speakers only had a digital input (in the form of a 1/8in miniplug) on them so i hooked them up to my versajack on my santacruz and it works great. but I was curios as to what kind of digital signal this is because from what I have read this system has a built in dolby digital decoder. I would like to know if I could hook this up to my stand alone dvd player and take advantage of the built in dolby digital decoder thanks for any info u can supply.

I checked out the review and it apears the thier are two differences between the gateway eddition and the standard one. one is thier are no analog inputs which I already knew, and it apears the standard version for the digital inputs takes a standard RCA style coaxial input, which is I guess s/pdif format. Mine has the digital input in the same spot but its in the form of a 1/8 sterio mini plug. I was woundering if anyone knows what type of signal this carries and if its possible to addapt it to a Dolby digital input, such as a PS2 or other dvd player thanks
