Ok i'm new to the pocket pc scene. I was wondering with avantgo, can you make it so it actually downloads the stuff to the ipaq? I actually thought that that is what it was, but then I tried it, and I can view them when it's in the cradle, but when i take it out I can't view the avantgo stuff anymore. What good is it if I can only view it while it's in the cradle? It would make much more sense to just go to the website to do it. My impression was with avantgo you can actually download the info to the ipaq and take it and leave and read it elsewhere.

Yeah, that's how it's suppose to work... You set the channels, and when you sync it saves them on the handheld. Then you use PIE to view them later.

Yep... Avantgo is supposed to save the webpages you chose onto your PDA so you can view them later away from your cradle...

I have never had the problem you described... but then again I am not using the Pocket PC version...

I think you're just using it wrong. It's supposed to download the web pages / channels to your handheld so you can view them anywhere. Works fine on my Palm. Maybe it's that crappy WinCE device of yours. ;) j/k

I get the local movie times of local threaters from Yahoo as a custom webpage.... Also the local weather forecast...

Then I get CNN.com, CNNSI, Cnnfn, MSNBC, and also the Wall Street Journal for reading when I have free time...
