question about auto insurance

do different types of tickets hurt your insurance rates in different ways? ie is speeding worse than say illegal turn?

I'm sure that different violations affect your premium to a different degree, but the details of exactly how your premium is determined is partially considered proprietary information by insurance companies.

there are different ways ins. co.'s rate traffic violations. Even if you get a speeding ticket that you end up not getting any points for, it will still be considered an incident as far as your ins. co goes.
most have different point systems but if its two points, its two points. the only thing that will not really effect rates are non-moving violations!

I have had 5 tickets since I was 18, for speeding, illegal turn, failure to signal...etc. Nothing has increased my insurance at all.

they probably just havent ran your driveing record again...wait until you revise your policy or add a different vehicle...thats what happened to me...cept my insurance company dropped my ass and i had to get a new one 🙁

you're right. it is expensive to run every customers driving record each year, so the will do audits and just run certain ones. when yours does get run again, the tickets will more likely than not show up.
