question about auto insurance

right now i have liablity coverage because i cant afford the full coverage ($1000/yr vs $3600/yr)

i was wondering if there is any way to tack on coverage for auto theft without upgrading to full coverage?

Either comprehensive or collision covers solen cars. I think it is collision which is what's gonna hit your pocket the most.

I have never ever had full coverage on any of the car I've ever own and I've been driving for 16 yrs.
Although most of my cars were used, 2 of them were only 2 yrs old when I bought them.
Since I paid them off every time, I never chose to get full coverage.
Maybe I'm just lucky but I feel I a good enough driver not to get full coverage.
The only way I'll get fvcked is if:

1) Its my fault.
2) Its their fault and they have no insurance.
3) My car get stolen.

You know even if I did get full coverage and one of those 3 things happenned, my premium would skyrocketed anyway so....

#2 and 3 are most likely to happen.

my insurance rep is on vacation :frown:

WTF kinda BS is that?

Sounds like you need a new insurance company.

While on vacation, I'll bet he hasn't forgetten to send your bill out.

My basic coverage includes fire n theft. But then again my rates are well below what yours are.
MI, State Farm Insurance, 97 Escort.

Uninsured driver insurance is like $30 a year added on to my insurance... Why wouldn't you go ahead and get it and have the added piece of mind???

Comprehensive Coverage
This coverage pays for a covered car that is stolen or damaged by causes other than collision or upset. For example, damage caused by fire, wind, hail, or glass breakage is covered. Collision with birds or animals is also covered. Comprehensive Coverage will also pay substitute transportation expenses of up to $16 a day if your car is stolen.

Edit: fixed wrong $$$ per year for uninsured drivers
