Question about Athlon XP and Asus A7V

Will an Athlon XP 1700+ T-Bred A work in my Asus A7V with BIOS updates? The only reason I ask is, in this PC I have that right now but on Sunday I am getting a 2400+, and the other computer, with the A7V, is running a TBird 1.33 ghz right now (hot before, but I'm more worried now with Summer coming...Last night the temps hovered pretty high). Basically, I don't care so much if it doesn't work at full speed, which it won't, but I would like to be able to use the 1.5v that the XP supports, in order to keep down temps (an underclocked XP could probably be pretty good temp-wise).
 
yes but you'll have to use 14 x 10 for 1400 but if you have a TBird at 1.33 right now it's not worth it, even the diff in temps would be minimal at best.
