Question about atheists

Queasy

If an atheists repeatedly swears and uses the swear word 'g_d-d@mn' and all its variations....are they really an atheist?

depends, but not on anything related to your question. it's just an expression.

for example, i say goddamn all the time. yet i don't believe in any gods. i'd like to hear an argument as to why i would *not* be atheist.

Why wouldn't they be? To them, those are just words like any other. A series of sounds strung together that mean something by their construction, not because of the existence of some greater being.

If I say "Easter Bunny" 100 times does it mean I believe there's an Easter Bunny?

i'd be more concerned as to why you said easter bunny 100 times 😀

Well no. But if an atheists gets into an argument with someone and says "g_d d@mn you!" aren't they basically invoking a being that they don't believe exists to do harm upon another? I mean, there's a reason they are called 'curse' words. 😀

You don't believe in the Easter Bunny?? Well you are not going ot get any Life saving soul eggs and go to the shinny hole in the ground if you don't 😉

EVERYBODY knows there is a Easter Bunny as there is a Budda, God, Alla, etc....

😛

I grew up with it, hearing it on TV and all..and it naturally became embedded in my speech.

Syringer going with the word of the day 😉

its also mockingly throwing back the others religion at them😛

I don't think an infinitely powerfully good being cares much about word context. I think he can tell between honest hate towards him, or someone just being annoyed at something. Or that's just my excuse for using the word all the time 😉

his question is valid tho.

IF NO ONE believed in God, would God Dammit still shock anyone??

i think that people who are shocked by it are kind of... sheltered. i just use it to express how i feel.
