Question about Asus Utilities

I'm not sure if this is in the right section, its about Asus motherboard software.

When my computer starts up, it usually loads the "Asus Wi-Fi AP Solo" on the taskbar, but it isn't very stable. Sometimes is doesn't respond, and as far as I know, it doesn't really do anything that the standard windows wireless connection thing doesn't.

I would like to uninstall it, but will my wireless still work without it? I know if I close the utility on the taskbar the Wi-Fi still works fine.

It's a PITA, but I don't know if it's essential.
