Question about AOL and Anandtech

I know using Anandtech is against the forum's rules with AOL. I have a friend who was using college internet and then went to post using AOL. Would this be subject to the member being banished from the boards or will it just allow them not to be able to post?

If he has an AOL IP he will not be able to post at all. They block via IP.

It only means not being able to post. He can still read the forums, he just can't log in if he's connected through AOL.
