will using the onboard sound on the motherboard cause the CPU to run hotter? the reason i ask is i went from a NF7S version 2.0 to an AN7 and noticed that when using the onboard sound on the AN7 that my temps are higher than with the NF7S and a add in sound card. i do not have a sound card to experiment with since i fried it along with the NF7S and a few other components a few months back. thank you to all that reply

how do u fry a sound card? yes, because the sound card is producing its own heat for audio so the cpu doesn't have to.

The AN7 has the NVIDIA APU which is a real audio controller with DSP. Your CPU will be shouldering a larger burden of audio processing when using most sound cards compared with using the integrated APU.
