Question about an LCD problem.

Hello, I recently contacted Dell about sending a replacement LCD for my e1505 after I noticed mine had a series of slightly slanted horizontal lines running through white backrounds. These lines are gray-clear in appearance, and are more noticable depending on the viewing angle. Is this an LCD problem or GPU problem? I'd hate to get a new monitor, go through all of the trouble swapping them, and come to the realization that it didn't fix anything :Q Just wondering if any of you have ever experienced this and can give me a little more insight as to what i'm dealing with.

I just realized that I could set up 2 monitors, so I tested 2 white screens side by side. my Dell ultrasharp vs the current LCD. No white lines appear on the ultrasharp, but they're still on the laptop's LCD. So is it safe to say the laptop screen is at fault here?
