Question Question about AIO water cooling

Considering a build with a 3900X. My previous builds always were with Noctua CPU fans, so no experience with water cooling. I would normally go with the NH-D15 for this build.

How does typical AIO water cooling compare with respect to reliability, noise and performance? For reliability, I'm talking in-service life of 8-10 years. What is the usual point of failure: pump, leaks? For noise, is it the pump, or the fans? Better to have 3 fans and longer rad or 2 fans and shorter? Brands/models to stay away from (reliability-wise)?

For performance, I can determine from reviews, but I don't see much on long term reliability.

Case will likely be a Fractal Design Define R6C.

I highly doubt any AIO pump will last 8-10 yrs.
These are not industrial certified pumps like a liang D5 is on the custom LCS side we use which some have lastested 10yrs or more.

8-10 years is a lot for any mechanical part if its running 8+ hours a day. Even a lot of fans will start to fail by then.

I have never had an AIO outright fail on me (knock on wood), but been running a Corsair H100i for almost 5 years without any issues. I prefer this setup over a big fan as the CPU runs cool, its quiet, and all the hot air exits the case directly as the radiator air exits the case. And since I have a SFF case, not having hot air dump out inside it is nice.

The case you are looking at would be good to use with a radiator as those cases have pretty poor airflow because of the solid front. The small vents along the side of the front aren't nearly adequate enough.

Can I mount the Corsair H110i 280 mm AIO vertically?

Also I used Corsair AF 120 fans instead of SP120, how much would that affect heat dissipation?

It can be mounted in any orientation. It should not effect cooling at all.

Corsair coolers have a 5 year warranty last I checked.
