Question about a video card

I have a connect 38 x800gto and i just installed an arctic silencer rev4 and it lowered my overall fps from 212 to ike 40 any ideas why?

if you didnt intall it right, the card might be throttling from increased temps.

im 95% certain i installed it correctly but i will have to double check i dont think i made a mistake and i double checked. before i had it in and on the stock cooler which was running hotter it was doing beter and its cooler now, and its only in game that it does this, when i run ati tool it is fine. maybe driver issue?

probably not you didnt chang anything else. make sure the ram pads are the proper height. ram can be different heights and if your ram si higher the copper plate may not be making optimal contact with the gpu having the ram lift it up and all.

I also only screwed it in finger tight on the screws do you think maybe if i tightened them a little more with a screw driver it would work? i didnt want to put to much strain on the gpu or ram

yeah, some tension is needed since it hangs upide down in the case and is pretty heavy.
