Question about a ticket I got

Well, to make a long story short, does anyone know where I could find information about what the penalty is for having carried too many licenses in the car with me. I had my restricted and learner permit ones in the glovebox from a long time ago and I guess they can't be in the car at all. I checked the NY state DMV website but I can't seem to find it. I also googled a million things and couldn't come up with anything. If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thanks

I was under the impression that you're only supposed to have one license, regardless if it's on your person/vehicle.

Call a lawyer for legal advice.

If it's not a legit charge, fight it.

Just be sure to talk to the judge when your court date comes up, tell him you are sorry for the infraction, but didn't know that you were doing anything wrong. Tell him you will not make the mistake again. I give you an 80% chance of having the charge dropped at that point.

Lawyers cost money...

I got busted for that when I was around 17. I liked the picture of my old license better so I had it in front of my new license. A ticket though? He just took the old one away. I had a hole punched through the old one and tried to talk him into letting me keep it but he would not hear any of it.

Sorry for not responding earlier. Yeah NY is messed up big time but I didn't know if anyone knew how much it would be for the charge. I guess I'll call the DMV or something and find out. He took the 2 and said he would destroy them for me which is good but still, getting a ticket for that is kinda gay.

When I got my M endorsement, the guys at the DMV punched a hole in my old license and gave it back to me...why would they do that if it were illegal to have too many?

I have my expired license and my new license. I keep the expired in my car and my regular license in my wallet. Had my passport in my car until last week as well.
