Is it really necessary for a resume? If so, should I only state one type of objective or can I state more than one? My school is having a job fair in which more than one type of company is coming, and in addition to dropping off my resume with each company I'm interested in, I'd also have to put my resume on-line for companies that can't make it to look at.

So far, here's what I have for the objective statement:
To apply my knowledge of computer networks, network security, network hardware, and Information Services in a company that enables me to help improve their network operations. I am also interested in applying my knowledge of Test Engineering to ensure proper quality of a company's products.

Is this good, or should I tailor the objective statement for each company that I drop off a resume with and maybe keep something more general for companies that can't make it?

The answer, of course, is "it depends."

For a job fair, a generic objective statement is almost necessary.

If you're applying at a particular company for a particular job, modify your statement for that job.
