Question about a Laptop hard-drive

I have a general question that comes to mind..

my friend has a 2.5 hitachi hard drive in her ibm laptop r51.. and the hard drive is partitioned into 2 parts.. what would happen if i take my 2.5 external enclosure and plug it into her hard drive and then plug it into my desktop??

would the computer read the hard drive as 2 different drives?? or just one??

The desktop should read the drive as two partitions, two drive letters.
