question about a laptop cpu

i just bought a sony vaio pcg-z505js off of ebay and its supposed to have a p3 650mhz mobile cpu, but when i use sandra or cpuid it only says its a PENTIUM III E 500MHZ. is that right? or am i getting ripped off? i'm pretty sure this is the correct model because everything else was properly advertised. could it be that the cpu was switched out? i doubt it because the guy said he never opened the laptop, and he has a 100+ positive ebay account.
 
Is the laptop running on the battery or AC?? Most will run at reduced speed when on battery to conserve power and extend the time. RR
