If the employer asks, you have to list misdemeanors too. My current employer wanted everything above traffic violations over $200 through my entire history. I received a straight conviction for assault (Class A or C misdemeanor, I forget) about 10 years ago and that skeleton jumps out of my closet every time I fill out a job application. What makes it worse is that it was a straight conviction, not deferred adjudication; so there is no way to get it expunged off my record. This will follow you for your entire life unless you get a deferred adjudication ruling.

I thought the police officer mentioned something about probation... Maybe I should give my best friend's lawyer a call.
