Question about a HD, and a new motherboard

Heya guys. Quick question, and possibly a dumb one, but here it goes. I've got an IDE hard drive now, with Windows XP SP1 installed. If I were to get a new nForce 4 Ultra system (new video card, CPU, and mobo) Can I just hook up my existing hard drive, and be ready to roll? Provided I get the latest nForce software on it?

Hmm usually when you change the mobo it erases the hard drive. At least that's what happened when mine was replaced.

Maybe. It's a good idea to make a seperate partition and install there, and wipe the old OS install when you're done. If you are'nt RAIDing your hard drives and they both use similar chipsets (Nforce3 and Nforce4) you should be okay. Of course, backing up your hard drive is a REALLY good idea, as always.
