Question about a file being locked and read only...

What would cause this? This the only person with this issue on this network. All their profile ssettings are the same in AD, where does MS Office get these user names from?
 
Office gets the usernames from however they're logged in through Windows...Domain or otherwise.

Is the file located on the network? Can other people open this file successfully?
 
With Windows Explorer, find the file or files in question. Right click on the file and look at the bottom of the General screen for ATTRIBUTES. See if Read Only is checked. If so, uncheck it.
