Is there any way to find out what jumper settings to use for master or slave on my cd-rom?

I have no idea what brand it is and its no where in the manual....

CD-Roms are generally the same.

The basic grid looks like this:

Set it up like this for master:

Set it up like this for slave:

: | : :

Mileage will vary.

<< oh, well ok. I'll try that. Thank you. >>

Let me know how it turns out. My ACSI art was a little off, I forgot the "." part of the grid, DOH.

it should be marked on the back or top of the drive.

I forgot, you have a 99% chance of having cable select IDE (marked IDE 0 master, IDE 1 slave on the ribon) cables in your machine. so you will need to set all drives to cable select. (or get normal cables)

You will need to put the drive you want as master on the cable port marked master and so on.
