Question about a 780

I've never owned a high end video card for the 10+ years I been into computers because I just never thought it was worth it price wise. Well I stumbled across a good deal on one I couldn't pass up and am debating if I want to sell it and go mid range(what I'm use to) and pocket the rest.

I usually skip a generation and go mid range on the next. I am just curious how long it might take for a mid range card to come out that would be considered a worthy upgrade over this 780? I know no one knows for sure just asking for opinions.

Depends on your potential profits and the risk of selling online. Personally if you got a good deal on it i'd just keep it and enjoy it.

yeah $200 give or take. I may end up just keeping it. Only downside if I keep it is I'll have to upgrade my PSU in the near future. I am running a Corsair VX550 which from what I read should be enough but I don't like pushing my PSU to its limits.

If I were in your shoes I'd do what you've been doing (assuming you've been fine with this) and just go mid range. Get the rest of the money and save up to up your PSU.

That's just me

Assuming proper functionality, that PSU is fine. You just want that card to be properly ventilated and you should be good to go depending on resolution you run.
