Two quick questions actually: Is there a utility or something that lets you check the core your card has, without physically removing the heatsink and looking on the chip? Also, is there someway to check to make sure its a 256-bit card?
Right on the box it should tell you (if you have a retail 9800 Pro)
and you should have an R350 core if that's what you are asking (I think it's R350)
the ATI drivers come with all of that information right in your display properties.
There is no way to know what the core is without removing the heatsink. As for the bus width, download ATI tool and it can tell you if its a 256bit card.
