Question about 845E chipset and ram.

I've got a Sager 5660 notebook with a 2.8ghz processor and 512MB DDR. I found an online manual saying that the board would only take 512MB SODIMM sticks. I swear the 845E can take at least 1GB sticks of ram. Anyone ever try putting a 1GB stick of ram into a laptop with an 845E chipset?

The dilemma is that a 512 stick from Sager is 155 while I can get a 1GB stick from the hot deals section for the same price.

Any help would be much appreciated.
